MAB Hero Get Involved

Founded as a grassroots organization, Hope & Cope has always been a proud part of the Montreal community. From the day we first opened our doors in 1981, we made a commitment to providing emotional, spiritual and practical support services free of charge to those struggling with cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The opening of the JGH Hope & Cope Wellness Centre in 2007 was yet another step in our evolution as an organization that responds to the ever changing needs of cancer survivors and their loved ones.

There are many ways you can help. You can make a donation, you can become a volunteer, you can organize a fundraiser on our behalf, you can spread the word about our services and programs – the list is limited only by your imagination!

Hope & Cope

Dr. Albert Chan, a psychologist at Maggie's Centre in Hong Kong, paid a visit to our Wellness Centre to learn more about our approach. Maggie's Centres provide practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends.

Dr. Chan provides one-on-one counselling, family counselling and runs a weekly men's support group. He was most impressed with the Wellness Centre and with our use of cancer experienced volunteers, a model that he believes would work well in China but would not be appropriate for Hong Kong.
